For the time being, find out what command and user owns the audio card. I have an a Behringer uca, and I’d like to record some guitar stuff through audacity, but I cannot. I get playback from the monitors, no problems there. I am running Arch Linux.

I tried a few more things and it’s good to go so good for that.

For 30 bucks behribger usb card sounds amazing. I don’t see anything else showing up in alsamixer besides “PCM”. I have an a Behringer uca, and I’d like to record some guitar stuff through audacity, but I cannot.
Just in case, check that levels in alsamixer if any are good. Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: The audioengine is currently running at Hz.
Select all speaker-test -Dhw: I suggest you use a music-oriented distribution. No registered users and 0 guests.

I had to come off the line ouput on my console, not the tape outs. Nothing to capture audio from the inputs or anything else. I also created a behringeg project in Ardour right before I got the uca, and now when I try to open that session, it gives me a warning: I have an old tascam mixer I am running it through and out of the tape outs or the line outs into the uca, and I also tried going directly in to the card with no luck.

I read some people were using this with some success, but I can only get it to playback and not capture from my mixer or guitar connected to the inputs. Intel behrinfer Intel], device 3: Select all alsamixer -c1. I playand though I checked out the guitar amp, still no sound. I am running Arch Linux.
Still not getting any capture devices in alsamixer though, nothing in qjackctl either. However, now I am trying to get my guitar and mics through, and I am having problems.
